Coldplay at the Metropolitano in 2027?

Rumour, not an announcement: no date yet
Nobody is selling Coldplay tickets in Madrid right now, and anyone who says otherwise is making it up. Below you will find where the rumour comes from, what is missing for it to be real, and what is worth sorting out today. And if it is confirmed, 70,700 people a night will be after a bed and an exit at the same time.
What would be at stake
If the rumour were ever confirmed at the Metropolitano, it would be the biggest exit operation Madrid has ever seen: the original rumour spoke of up to eleven nights, each with up to 70,000 people depending on a single metro line, L7. For scale: the Movistar Arena moves at most 17,453 people and spreads them across three lines. That part of the logistics can be studied today, because it does not depend on which artist plays, and it is what you will find in the venue guide.
First of all
First things first: as of today there is no Coldplay concert announced in Madrid. No date, no tickets, no pre-sale and no pre-sale code. This page exists to tell you exactly what is behind the rumour and what you can prepare, not to treat something unconfirmed as fact.
Your night, step by step
How to get out when it ends
The Riyadh Air Metropolitano depends on a single metro line, line 7, and that changes everything. It is not that there is no transport: it is that tens of thousands of people want to use it at once and in the same direction, so the queue eats the margin you thought you had.
The key
The line 7 queue at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano eats 30 to 60 minutes after a concert. Walk one stop: Las Musas (line 7) or Canillejas (line 5, a different line) get you out sooner.
The way out, option by option
Line 7 towards the centre gets overwhelmed for 30 to 60 minutes after the final note. Walking one stop cuts the wait considerably.
How each exit gets saturated

Taxi ranks follow Madrid City Council's mobility plan. For ride-hailing there is no single published pick-up point: move away from the stadium perimeter before ordering, since the access roads get cut off once the event ends.
Here the problem is not the closing time, it is the queue: with a single metro line, getting out can take up to an hour. If you are coming by car from outside the city, sorting parking out beforehand avoids the worst part of the night.

The Riyadh Air Metropolitano bans bottles and suitcases in its rules and publishes no bag size. At a concert the promoter's note also applies: for Bad Bunny's 2026 shows, Live Nation allowed bags up to 40x20x20 cm and a soft 500 ml bottle with no cap. There is a storage point next to the Museum.
The key
Metropolitano rule: no bottles at all and no published bag size. Your promoter can set its own —for Bad Bunny 2026, bags up to 40x20x20 cm and a soft 500 ml bottle with no cap— so check your concert's note.

This venue has a cloakroom
The stadium has a storage point for items that fail the check: on Paseo de los Colchoneros, next to the stadium Tour and Museum entrance. It does not publish a price: give yourself extra time if you are going to need it.
Coming with a suitcase? The venue cloakroom will not take it: you need left luggage before you arrive.
Find storage in MadridWhere to sleep that night
For a concert at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano the logic runs opposite to every other venue in Madrid: it is worth sleeping on line 7 itself or near the airport, not in the city centre. Staying around Sol forces you to fight for the metro at exactly the moment it is at its worst.
The key
For the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, sleep on line 7 or near the airport: the trip back takes about 15 minutes, against an hour and more from the city centre.

Where to eat before or after
Around the Riyadh Air Metropolitano there is an almost total gap between 128 and 572 metres: either you eat inside the venue, or you walk ten minutes to the Plaza de Grecia cluster. Improvising on the way out is not an option here.
The key
Around the Riyadh Air Metropolitano there is nothing between 128 and 572 metres. Decide before you leave home whether you eat before or after: the real options are at Plaza de Grecia, about ten minutes' walk away.

No section selected. The map is schematic: it helps you understand where you land and which way you will exit, not pick an exact seat.
Every section, in detail
Front floor
The strip of pitch right in front of the stage. Sold separately and pricier, and every tour names it its own way: Golden Circle, front stage, PIT. It fills up with hours of queuing and it is where getting out is worst: you are at the bottom of the funnel with the whole pitch ahead of you.
General floor
The rest of the pitch, standing and unnumbered. From halfway back you see more screen than stage, but you get out much sooner and you are close to the pitch exits. The sweet spot if getting to the metro early matters to you.
Side · gates 03–17
Side stand on the entrances A, B and C side, which is where the metro stop (L7) and the left-luggage point are. You see the stage side-on: the further from the stage end, the more head-on. At the end you come out on the station side, so you reach the metro queue before anyone else.
Side · gates 32–38
Side stand on the side away from the metro. Same side-on view as the opposite stand. On the way out you have to walk round the stadium to the L7 stop, so expect a much longer walk than from the other side. Always check which entrance and gate your ticket shows: in a stadium, going in on the wrong side means half a lap of the venue.
Far end
The end opposite the stage. You see everything head-on, screens included, but you really are far away: this is for the atmosphere and for seeing the whole show. If your tour puts the stage at the other end, this becomes the stage end: check your promoter's plan.
Upper tier
The upper ring. You see the whole thing, which is welcome in a stadium setup, but the sound arrives slightly behind the picture. Getting down from here takes a while: do not count on being among the first out.
Behind the stage
The end behind the stage, on both levels. Most tours do not sell it, or sell very little of it, and what they sell is restricted view. If your ticket lands here, check how the promoter describes it before you buy.
Frequently asked questions
Is it confirmed that Coldplay are playing Madrid?
No. There is no date, no venue, no tickets on sale and no pre-sale open. We last checked on 15 October 2026: the tour page on coldplay.com reads "There are no dates currently scheduled", and the official programme of the Riyadh Air Metropolitano lists its 2027 concerts (Karol G, Harry Styles, Don Omar) without Coldplay.
Is there a pre-sale code for Coldplay in Madrid?
No, and there cannot be: with no concert announced there is no pre-sale, and without a pre-sale no code exists. Any code you are offered today does not belong to a real pre-sale; sites that hand one out in exchange for your email are after your address. For reference, the last time Coldplay played Spain, in Barcelona in 2023, the pre-sale was only for people registered with Live Nation, the promoter, and tickets were sold only on livenation.es and ticketmaster.es.
How much will Coldplay tickets in Madrid cost?
Nobody knows, because there is no concert. Any price table you see, by zone or category, is made up. The only real reference is the last Spanish tour: in Barcelona in 2023 the cheapest ticket was 50 euros plus fees. The rule for telling a real date from an invented one is simple: if an event does not appear on the venue's official website, it is not confirmed.
So where does the rumour of 11 concerts come from?
From a single source: Juanma Castaño, on El Partidazo de COPE, on 28 August 2025. He reported that the Metropolitano 'would host' up to eleven Coldplay concerts in 2027, after a year off in 2026. He is a reliable journalist with access to Atlético's inner circle, the stadium's owner, so the route is plausible, but he framed it as conditional. Since then neither the band, nor the stadium, nor the promoter has confirmed it. Everything else circulating online is that same story repeated, not independent confirmation.
When would we find out?
There is no date for the announcement, so be wary of anyone who gives you one. All the band has said is that the tour goes on: on 6 September 2025, at Wembley, Chris Martin said Music of the Spheres had 138 more shows to go and that the 2027 shows would be announced 'soon', after a break. More than a year later, their website still has no date in any country.
Why the Metropolitano and not the Movistar Arena?
Capacity. Coldplay have spent years on a stadium tour, and in Madrid that leaves the Metropolitano or the Bernabéu. The Movistar Arena, the former WiZink Center, tops out at 17,453 people, well below what the tour moves: if you see Coldplay 'announced' at the WiZink, be suspicious. If it is ever confirmed at another venue, we will update this page.
Is it worth booking a hotel already?
Only with free cancellation, and knowing there may be no concert at all. When a stadium concert is announced in Madrid, accommodation in the area gets more expensive within hours. Blocking a cancellable room costs nothing; looking for one after the announcement does.
What can I prepare that would be useful either way?
The way home. How you get out of the Metropolitano at night does not depend on the artist: line 7 gets overwhelmed for 30 to 60 minutes, and the move that works is walking to Las Musas or to Canillejas, which is a different line. You can read that today and it will be useful for any concert you end up seeing there.
