How we verify our data

We are an independent guide. We do not sell tickets, we do not belong to any venue and nobody pays us to appear here. This is what we do so you can trust every figure on this site — and how to check it yourself at the original source.

Our six criteria

  1. 01

    The venue is the first source

    Entry rules, cloakroom details and door times come from the venue's own website. If the venue says it, that is what we publish, even when it contradicts other sites. Metro timetables come from Metro de Madrid and the CRTM, not from third parties.

  2. 02

    If it is not published, we say so

    When a venue does not publish a maximum bag size, a storage price or a door time, you will see "not published" or "to be confirmed". We do not fill gaps with plausible-sounding numbers: an invented figure that reads well is worse than an honest gap.

  3. 03

    Our estimates are labelled as estimates

    Almost nobody publishes a concert's finishing time. Ours always appears as an estimate, never as official data, and that is where the margin to the last metro comes from. If we gave it to you as fact, we would be misleading you.

  4. 04

    A rumour is a rumour

    If a concert does not appear on the venue's official site, it is not confirmed, however widely it circulates. Those pages are labelled as rumours, with the specific source that started it and its date, and we do not turn them into announcements until the venue publishes them.

  5. 05

    We do not publish data that expires before the guide does

    For food we tell you where the affordable options cluster and how far away they really are, but not opening hours, phone numbers or specific prices. Those are the first things to go out of date, and a stale opening time in a guide whose whole value is accuracy discredits the lot.

  6. 06

    Affiliate links are declared and change nothing

    Some accommodation, luggage storage, parking and transport links are affiliate links, and both the page footer and the link itself say so. Nobody pays us to appear or to be recommended: no venue, hotel or brand pays us for what we say about them.

The sources, venue by venue

How often we re-check

Each venue carries its own verification date, shown at the bottom of every page. We re-check entry rules and timings at least every 90 days, and whenever a venue announces a change. An automated check warns us when a cited source stops responding or when a verification goes stale, so it does not depend on somebody remembering.

Spotted something that no longer adds up? It is the fastest way to improve this.
