The Riyadh Air Metropolitano —formerly the Wanda— bans bottles and suitcases in its rules, and publishes no maximum bag size. That is the stadium’s rule. But at a concert there is a second layer that almost nobody reads: the promoter’s note, which can pin down —and sometimes relax— what the stadium leaves open.
This guide separates the two, because mixing them up is why one person has their bottle taken at one gate and another gets it through at a different concert.
Two sets of rules, not one: stadium and promoter
The stadium’s rules are Atlético de Madrid’s rules for the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. They apply to everything held there, football and concerts, and they are the list below.
The promoter’s rules are published by whoever organises your concert, usually on the event page or in an email to ticket holders a few days before. They fill in what the stadium does not set, such as bag size, and can allow things the general rules do not cover.
The clearest case is Bad Bunny in 2026. Live Nation, the promoter, published its own list for his ten nights at the Metropolitano which, as reported by eldiario.es and Telecinco, allowed:
- A backpack or bag of up to 40x20x20 cm, checked at the entrance.
- One soft plastic water bottle of up to 500 ml, with no cap.
- A sandwich or fruit for personal consumption, wrapped in cling film.
That does not make those limits the stadium’s rules: they were that tour’s. Another concert may set different ones, or none.
Check your concert's note
Even Bad Bunny’s limits did not reach everyone the same way: the Ticketmaster blog guide said 40x40x20 cm. The only version that counts is the one your date’s promoter publishes. Look for it the day before; if it says nothing, the stadium’s rules apply.
Bags: the stadium sets no size
The stadium does not publish a maximum size or capacity for backpacks and bags, unlike the WiZink Center, which sets a 25-litre limit. What it does ban in writing is suitcases.
If your promoter publishes a size, that is your reference. If not, the underlying criterion is the usual one: bags are checked at the entrance and anything bulky or dangerous is refused. The smaller, the better, and a travel bag is not getting in.
Before you leave home
What fails the check stays outside
The stadium does not publish a maximum bag size, but it does ban bottles, umbrellas and helmets. Anything that fails goes to the storage point on Paseo de los Colchoneros, and that means queueing before the show. What you do need inside is your phone, and wearing it is easier than carrying a bag: a waterproof pouch with an adjustable cord — this one comes as a pack of two and, according to its listing, is IPX8 — hangs from your neck and leaves your hands free in the queue and on your feet.
If it rains, an umbrella is not an option, because the stadium bans it. A light, reusable hooded poncho is what you can wear instead.
And if you want photos without taking your phone out, a disposable camera with flash — 39 exposures, according to its listing — weighs nothing and stays in your pocket.

Bottles: the stadium’s rules ban them
Under the stadium’s rules, bottles are not allowed in. There is no general exception like the WiZink’s “plastic, no cap, half a litre”. No alcoholic drinks either.
The club’s written rules explain why: they ban objects of more than 500 grams or millilitres that could be thrown, and give bottled drinks as an example. That is why, when a promoter relaxes the rule, it does so with such specific conditions: soft plastic, 500 ml and no cap.
If your concert says nothing about bottles, assume none get in.
Prohibited items
The list the stadium publishes:
- Bottles
- Umbrellas — see the nuance below
- Motorcycle helmets
- Prams
- Sharp objects: scissors, knives
- Fireworks
- Scooters
- Weapons
- Banners
- Drones
- Tobacco and cigarettes inside the stadium
Add to that suitcases, which the written rules ban explicitly, and the usual catch-all: any dangerous object or anything that could be thrown, and anything security considers could disrupt the event.
The umbrella
It deserves its own note because it is the most common mistake. The stadium website shows it as banned; its written rules specify golf umbrellas and those with a metal tip, and leave folding ones out of the ban. Since security decides, do not risk it: a rain jacket or poncho takes up no space and nobody will take it off you.
There is left luggage
The stadium has a storage point for items that fail the check: it is on Paseo de los Colchoneros, next to the stadium Tour and Museum entrance. It is the difference between throwing something away and getting it back on the way out.
What it does not publish is the price, and it is not for luggage: suitcases do not get into the stadium. If you know you are carrying something that will not pass, give yourself time to drop it off before going in.
If you are coming from out of town with a suitcase
This matters more here than at any other venue in Madrid, because the stadium is isolated: you have no alternatives to hand if you are turned away at the gate.
Deal with the suitcase before you get on line 7, at your accommodation or at a left-luggage service in the centre. Turning up at the Metropolitano with luggage and hoping to improvise is the worst possible decision.

This venue has a cloakroom
The stadium has a storage point for items that fail the check: on Paseo de los Colchoneros, next to the stadium Tour and Museum entrance. It does not publish a price: give yourself extra time if you are going to need it.
Coming with a suitcase? The venue cloakroom will not take it: you need left luggage before you arrive.
Find storage in MadridSummary, if you only read one thing
Stadium rules: no bottles, no suitcases and no published bag size. Your promoter can be more specific, as Live Nation was for Bad Bunny: read its note the day before. And sort out the suitcase before you get on line 7.
